Steel Building Pool Cover

Commercial projects take on all shapes, sizes and requirements.  From a simple steel building to a complex project, Renegade can help you with the design you need.  In this case, the customer needed a way to create an steel building to enclose their pool area.  Utilizing the clear span design of a pre-engineered steel building, we were able to help them accomplish both the functionality of the building as well as the aesthetics to blend in with their existing structures.

The installation of this building had a few unique requirements and challenges.  Note in the pictures that the fiberglass pool had already been set along with all applicable plumbing.  This meant that the construction crew had to work around various obstacles while erecting the steel building.

Another interesting item to note is that all the steel has a different look to it from most of the buildings we sell.  That is because the primary and secondary steel members were galvanized as opposed to having red oxide primer applied.  This allows for additional protection due to the climate and chemicals associated with a pool.

You may have noticed that only the roof has purlins and there are no girts on the walls.  The building was designed as a roof only with the walls open for construction by others.  In order to match the existing buildings, all of the framing and finish for the walls is completed after the steel building roof is erected.

Planning and care was required to install the interior liner panels.  This was again due to the fact that the pool shell had already been placed along with the trenches required for plumbing.  Care was taken to provide the crew with a steady platform allowing them to complete the roof liner panels with ease.

After the liner panels were installed on the underside of the roof along with the insulation, the actual roof panels could be installed.  Once completed, all soffit panels, rake and eave trim as well as the gutters were completed.  The down spouts were installed at a later date when the walls were complete.

The result is a great looking enclosed pool that matches the existing building.  We are sure the owners and guests will enjoy many years of fun with their steel building pool cover.

Many thanks to the erecting crew, McKeon Metal Builders for not only the good job raising the building but for all the pictures as well.
