What makes a Renegade Steel Building Different?

PBR Panels

"PBR" stands for Purlin Bearing Rib. While others may use a standard panel, Renegade uses the "PBR" panel on the roof and walls of our buildings. This gives the system rigidity and weathertightness. Other profiles are available with the purlin bearing system.

Why it matters

If you watch the illustrations you'll notice that the screw that attaches at the panel overlap high rib.  On the PBR panel on the top, the screw is able to penetrate both panels equally.  On the Non-PBR panel in the second illustration, you will notice that there is no support which can lead to the screw pushing in on the bottom panel causing a gap.

Long Life Screws

Renegade's long-life, self drilling fasteners are cast aluminum zinc with a EPDM sealing washer help enforce the finish warranties and ensure a long lasting, rust free building. We include these on both the roof and walls.

Why it matters

Not all steel building companies provide these screws for both roof and walls.  Without the sealing washer, you are more likely to see a leak and if the screw head scratches the finish, you could even see rust on your panels .
Formed base trim illustration

Formed Base Trim

The base of our buildings uses formed base trim. This heavier gauge, one piece system installs quicker and supports your manufacturers warranty for your wall panels.

Why it matters

Other base conditions can be base angle and flashing or a concrete notch.  The 2 piece system can have issues with installation and the old concrete notches can hold water.

Framed Openings

Whenever a customer wants a window, we always like to include a framed opening. This provides a sturdy and secure structure for the window to attach to allowing for better fit and finish. Other companies may take the cheap approach and just sell a window that simply screws into the wall panel.

Why it matters

Sure, you can just screw a self flashing window to the wall panel, but why would you.  Every steel building allows for a small amount of movement due to wind and seismic activity.  These movements can cause a window to work loose over time if there is no frame to attach to.
steel building girt clip

Factory Welded Clips

Clips for the roof purlins and wall girts are factory located and welded saving you time when erecting your building.

Why it matters

Having the clips factory located means less labor and quicker install times, not to mention fewer nuts and bolts to deal with.
