Kevin Welch took a chance and started Renegade Steel Buildings in March of 2010 during a difficult economic season.  You might ask why anyone would want to start a business when times are tough.  The answer comes from his years of experience along with his connections in the Pre-Engineered Steel building industry.  Another factor was what he saw in terms of how people were treated, not only customers but vendors and employees as well.  He was determined to create a company that was different.  A company that would treat everyone fairly while providing customers with a competitive price and focusing on excelling at the customer service end of the business.  That is actually how he came up with the name Renegade.

You may think of a Renegade as an outlaw, but according to the dictionary a Renegade is a person who deserts an organization or set of principles.  In this case, deserting a way of doing business that was incompatible with his own values and blazing a trail different from the way things had been done.  That's part of what makes Renegade different in this industry is that we care about our customers, and want to make sure you get a great building at a great price as well as caring about the team members and vendors.  That thinking comes from the top, which in the case of Renegade Steel Buildings, it comes from Kevin.  All of us at Renegade have watched him make decisions that are based on what is right, not necessarily what affects the bottom line.  It is refreshing to know that at the core of our business is an owner that wants to do the right thing.
