What comes with a Steel Building?

When discussing what comes with a steel building, we have to make sure we are talking about the same product.  Many people use the term steel building very generically.  That's why you my see many companies popping up when you search for a steel or metal building.  First and foremost, we want our customers to know that we only sell pre-engineered, red iron, steel buildings.  Our type of building consists of I-beams for the main building support columns and rafters with the secondary materials made from "Zee" or "Cee" members.

Many other companies sell steel buildings that may consist of wood support structures (pole barns), or aluminum tube frame with thin gauge steel panels.  While these buildings may have their place and price point, they are simply not the type building we sell.

The quality Metal Building that we offer

The frame of the building is comprised of steel I-beams for the columns and rafters and steel secondary members for wall girts, roof purlins and framed openings. The mainframe columns are engineered to be anchor bolted to the concrete foundation. We utilize 26 gauge metal panels for the roof and walls with even thicker material available. This is commonly referred to as a Pre-Engineered, Red Iron Steel Building.

The structure of this building is comprised of wood poles placed in the ground, wooden girts & purlins, and wooden trusses. Many times, thinner 29 gauge metal panels are used for the panels.  The wooden poles are more flexible allowing the building to move or sway in the wind.  This movement can have adverse effects on the structure and weather seal.

A rounded or arch style building with no internal framing similar to the old military style buildings. There is no internal support as the arch style of the panels create a self supporting structure. This design has limitations on widths and the radius design decreases usable internal wall space.

This style building uses an aluminum square tube for the building structure. The building can be placed on concrete or gravel with nothing more than a mobile home anchor. Typically, thinner 29 gauge metal panels are used to sheet the building.

Your Renegade Steel Building includes everything you need to complete your building including the final drawings of your building.

  • Main I-beam columns and rafters
  • Girts and purlins
  • Any framed openings
  • Base trim.
  • Roof Panels
  • Wall panels
  • Trim
  • All the nuts and bolts, panel screws, caulk and mastic tape
  • Any optional items you ordered such as roll up doors, insulation, gutters, windows, walk doors etc.
  • Not included with your building:  Anchor bolts - they are part of the foundation and should be provided by your concrete supplier when pouring your foundation/slab.
